For the past four years, the Rotary Club of Kew on Yarra has sponsored an annual award to recognise exceptional service provided by a retailer or a service business. For the last three years it has received the endorsement of the City of Boroondara, who is co-sponsor of this initiative.
Award nominations are made by customers who feel they have received a level of service which has been beyond what might be accepted as good service. The awards, named for a Boroondara resident who has served Rotary, for an extended period, in an exemplary manner. The awards are directed towards the neighbourhood sized retail precincts, (the local shops), of which there are 24 in the City of Boroondara. This focus has been selected for a very special reason.
To compete against the large shopping strips and the free standing major shopping centres, there is almost a singular distinguishing element on which they must rely. The personal, genuine, exceptional service they must offer, will set them apart from the majors and allow profitable small businesses to survive. This service, which surpasses the acceptable norm, will be recognised by their customers, who, hopefully, will nominate them to be considered for the award.
The Awards encourages those customers, who have the beneficiary of exceptional service, form a business which has been anxious to "go the extra mile", to nominate the person and business which has provided this service.
This can be achieved by completing the nomination form contained in the brochure, located in each outlet, or, by completing the form contained at the website serviceexcellenceawards.info
There is an attractive reward for the nominator of the Award winner.
